We say goodby to one of our fellows, Paul George 1949-2014

Rest in Peace Paul George, a fine fellow and great gun guy originally from Lone Wolf Oklahoma and later attended school and graduated from Hobart High School, Hobart OK. I remember Paul as a kid four years behind me who was smart and fun to pick on when he teased me, we went to the same church and his father Orin George was my banker for a number of years and Paul grew up in a wonderful family.

Just a few years ago my brother John McElyea told my son David and me about this neat guy who worked in a great gun store in Oklahoma City down by I-40 and after David and I finished hunting pheasants that year we stopped by the gun store and I became reacquainted with Paul and we have stayed in touch for several years now sharing our gun hobbies. This past year Paul came down to Tecumseh OK and joined eight of us for our High Plains Shooting and Dining Society pheasant hunt and became one of our official fellows.

Paul has been well known for years with the shooting sports in Central Oklahoma and appreciated for his extensive knowledge, particularly about the venerable old M-1 Grarands. From all of us who appreciated good gun talk and some politics Paul will be dearly missed. Thank you Paul George from all men and women you have helped enjoy the shooting sports for many years and Godspeed.
