“COME AND TAKE IT”
The Texas license plate on the front of the big old truck of one of our fellows ‘COME AND TAKE IT’ was used in 1835 at the Battle of Gonzales during the Texas Revolution. Of course this is an adaptation of Molon labe means “Come and take them”, which was understood to be uttered by a member of the 300 Spartans to the Persians demanding that the surrender of their weapons to the million + strong Persians. The Persians did go and take them, suffering horrific losses over three days. Molon Labe is pronounced Molon Lave which means “Come and Bathe” which can be important too.
In a few weeks we get to vote for those who would save our civilization and those who would do us great harm. I would suggest that everyone who is of legal age vote, and hope they think kind of like I do, so please study the issues and candidates and then cast your ballot. You don’t have to agree with anyone else and you don’t have to tell anyone or justify your vote but if you want to bitch and gripe a bit after the election is over I absolutely think you should cast your ballot and vote.
Now when it comes to gun guys and their desire to preserve their right to own and bear arms pay attention and this is not to be confused with the right to arm bears which is an altogether different issue that should be addressed by the U.S. Park services.
Anyway take some time to see who wants to mess with your guns and who wants to leave you alone and then hold your nose and vote for the person who is most likely to protect your rights and make decent decisions while in office, I have yet to find a politician that I really like very much but I always vote.
