We have guys gathering in and packing their gear getting ready for Dove Eve tomorrow night in Brownwood. We have five guns flying and driving in from out of state and our usual local Texas crew who will come together to celebrate our annual Dove Eve Dinner in the famous John Wayne room at the Section Hand restaurant in Brownwood where the specialty is chicken fried steak smothered in gravy with fried okra and french fries washed down with plenty of Dos Equis beer and followed by fresh apple pie with a heaping scoop of icecream.

I took all my UPC codes off of 20 boxes of AA Winchester shotgun shells and sent in my stuff for the rebate yesterday. My shotgun is cleaned up, my gear, shooting bag, ice chests, chairs are set out in the garage and I have almost finished my dove decoy device to set up next to my modified White Wing Mojo. I think the anticipation and preparation might be half of the fun of our High Plains Shooting and Dining Society Dove Day every year.

Anyway, that’s my story on the cusp of the 21st Dove Day Hunt.
