Is the High Plains Shooting and Dining Society out of your league?

The statement was made today that since we have a nifty logo and an incredible web site we might be to fancy for a person to feel comfortable because we might be out of his league.  Now here is a test to see if the person asking this question qualifies to be among us as we go forth upon our wonderful adventures.  When in doubt hold a mirror up to your nose and exhale and if you see even a tiny bit of fog on the glass, you are qualified.

The name of our group is a bit of satire and it is the result of us enjoying eating occasionally in some very nice out of the way places like Perini Ranch Steakhouse in Buffalo Gap and then at times we have been able to locate some of the worst food in Texas like half cook quail in a funny little house that took about a half a day for lunch service about eight years ago.  So we do like to get together several time a year, on the opening day of dove season which we call Dove Day and we meet in the John Wayne room at the Section Hand restaurant in Brownwood for a Dove Eve dinner on the last day of August every year.  Each summer we try to meet at Bluff Creek Farm outside of Crawford Texas where Keith Lane and Larry Bedinghaus let us tune up with a bit of shotgun practice and for the past few years we have been participating in the European Pheasant Shoot at Quail Ridge Hunting in and we plan to eat again at the Boomarang Diner in Tecumseh Oklahoma.

We tend to dress in some of the finest sartorial splendor procured in the cammo section of Walmart and Academy
and we will continue to be reckless in replenishing ourselves with some of the finest chicken fried steak sandwiches, barbecue and Mexican food in various small towns of Texas and Oklahoma so we do welcome all qualified safe shooters who like to dress funny and eat funny food.
